Mazda to Begin Production in Mexico Market

After six years of successful sales in Mexico, Mazda Motor Corp. has decided to open up a facility in Salamanca, Guanajuato. Called Mazda Motor Manufacturing de Mexico, the new plant is a joint venture between the Japanese automaker and Sumitomo Corp. Beginning in March of 2014, it will produce the MAZDA2 and MAZDA3 with a maximum capacity of 140,000 units.

Closing out the RX-8 lineup, Mazda will soon release its final special-edition RX-8 Spirit R. Not a whole lot has changed since the last model, but the Spirit R does come with a luxurious new look.
