Mazda returns for the 2020 model year with a noteworthy cast of characters. From an exclusive anniversary edition Mazda Miata to the all-new Mazda CX-30 SUV, here’s what’s coming in 2020.
Both Mazda3 variants — the compact sedan and hatchback — have received refreshed exterior styles. In fact, when this next-generation Mazda3 made its debut at the 2018 LA Auto Show, it excited the auto world with its luxury looks without the luxury price tag. The 2020 Mazda3 further enhances its luxury feel with a more upscale interior and improved sound insulation for better ride quality.
For 2020, the Mazda3 also includes a host of driver assistive safety features, including: Cross-Traffic Alert and a Cruising and Traffic Support system. The 2020 Mazda3 has a new version of the Skyactiv-G 2.5L 4-cylinder engine that puts out 186 horsepower. Both variants will be available with manual and automatic transmissions, as well as front and all-wheel drive.
2020 Mazda CX-30
Filling the gap between the subcompact Mazda CX-3 and the compact Mazda CX-5 is the all-new 2020 Mazda CX-30 crossover SUV. This all-new Mazda includes a new torsion beam suspension but shares the same underpinnings of the Mazda3. One of its most notable qualities is its superior sound insulation, which makes for superbly quiet, refined rides.
The all-new Mazda CX-30 includes a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine that’s paired to a 6-speed automatic gearbox, and will put out 186 horsepower. Front-wheel drive is standard but all-wheel drive is available.
2020 Mazda MX-5 Miata 30th Anniversary Edition
Celebrating its 30th Anniversary is the iconic Mazda MX-5 Miata. To commemorate the occasion, Mazda created a very special 30th Anniversary Edition…but all 3,000 of them have been spoken for. To reduce feelings of jealousy, let’s make this quick.
The 2020 Mazda MX-5 Miata 30th Anniversary Edition includes special Racing Orange paint, unique 17-inch wheels, 2.0L inline-four engine, Brembo brakes, Bilstein shocks and dampers, and an interior furbished in Alcantara leather with orange stitching and special Recaro seats.
2020 Mazda CX-5
One of today’s most exciting vehicles to drive returns for the 2020 model year with a more powerful turbo-charged 2.5L engine. This turbocharged Mazda puts out 250 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque and is exclusively available on the Mazda CX-5’s two new trim levels: the Grand Touring Reserve and Signature. Other trim levels will include a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine that puts out 187 hp and 186 lb-ft of torque. All trims will be paired to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
2020 Mazda CX-9
Sporty, agile, and exceptionally stylish, the 2020 Mazda CX-9 returns for what promises to be another blockbuster year. Mazda’s three-row crossover comes available with both front and all-wheel drive and includes smartphone integration, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, forward-collision warning, and a 360 around-view camera.
Plus, the 2020 model makes use of better sound insulation, which improves ride quality to further elevate its refined driving experience.
